Since your smartphone itself is a device, it can be easily found using other devices but a few steps have to be followed.
Supposedly, let’s just talk about Android phones since iPhones and every other Apple device have ‘Find Your Phone’ options but it is a rare find in Android smartphones but alternatives exist for it. Your Android phone can be found without the hassle if you simply follow the steps we have compiled for you.
Find Your Android Phone Using Other Devices
Here are those common issues and the solutions for those problems.
Find It through Your PC
Now if you are currently facing the dilemma of finding the phone you just lost, the easiest possible solution is to find it through your PC. Google has a support platform which can be found in your Google Account by the name ‘Find Your Android Phone’. Just access the option and click on to it to view further details.
However, this feature only works when you are logged into your Google account. If not, you might not be able to find it this way. Signing into your Google Account allows you to sync all your account details at once to the other devices too. Nearby devices with your Google account logged into will be visible on the map and with the call option on your Android phone, you can press ‘Ring’ to dial a call to your phone and make it ring.
Other Alternative
If you think this is not working out for you, there is a workable alternative too. You will have to go to the ‘Recover’ tab and from there many other options will be visible. The Recover button is made to help you lock your smartphone but a message is sent for it. This alternative helps you sign out of your Google account for good.
Find it using the Google Assistant
Almost every Android phone comes with the Google Assistant already pre-installed and your smartphone could have it too. The Google Assistant features include Nest Hub, Google Home, and various other similar features. So, using the Assistant, you have the ability to track your phone using your own voice. Usually, the go-to line is ‘Okay Google’ but once the Assistant is activated just speak into the microphone and give it the instructions to find your android phone. That way the phone will begin ringing itself and if it is kept near your premises, you will be notified immediately since the phone rings for a good 5 minutes or so.
Using an Android Device to find the phone
Now if you own another Android device, the chore of finding your smartphone becomes even simpler. However, firstly, download the Google Find My Device mobile app in order to find it. You should have this app installed on your smartphone already for this step to work. Now open the same app on another Android device and sign in using the credentials you inputted into your lost Android phone. A map will be visible on the screen showing where you last kept your phone or where it has been seen.
Just select the device that is available on the screen and you will be shown a visually enhanced display of the map. The app is going to show you 3 options to choose from. Either you can make your phone ring if you believe it is near you, for another 5 minutes, or you can just erase the phone for good if you believe it is nowhere to be found.
Find it through a Wear OS watch
Smartwatches are aplenty but there are some watches with the built-in feature of finding your lost devices. The smartphone is worn on your wrist so that makes it quite easy to find your phone if lost. The smartwatch is going to display a number of apps and there will be one by the name Find My Phone. Simply tap on it and your watch is going to make your phone ring continuously.
